My sister and I had so much fun making these ribbon frames and I can’t wait to share the tutorial with you all. Not to mention, they are simple to make and extremely useful. So, let’s get started with tried and tested DIY ribbon frames to turn your art gallery into something extraordinary.

  1. Ruffled Ribbon Edge Photo Frames

This ruffled ribbon-edged picture frame craft can help transform a simple white frame into a fun work of art. All you need a couple of minutes, a photo frame, and craft supplies to showcase your creativity.

Supplies Needed:

  • Ribbon (1/2 inches)
  • Wide photo frames (1/2 inches)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Grab your frames and ribbon and then adhesive the ribbon end to one corner of the picture frame.
  2. Next, add 2-3 inches of glue to the frame edge, fold the ribbon, and secure it well with the glue.
  3. Start by creating the first pleat in the ribbon. Simply, pleat and glue your way down to the edge of the frame.
  4. When you reach the corner, fold the ribbon at 45 degrees angle and paste it in place using glue. Keep working until you fold and paste ribbon all over the outer edge of the picture frame. In the end, paste and cut the ribbon from the frame edge.
  5. Repeat the same DIY design with your favorite colors to create a lavishing gallery wall assortment. You can even tie a bow and paste it to the bottom of the frame.
  1. Wrapped Ribbon Frames

I decided to make a trio of this DIY ribbon design in a variety of sizes and colors to add extra charm and excitement to my wall. I am sure that you’d also love making this fun, easy, and inexpensive home décor project.

Materials Required:

  • A range of ribbons of your choice
  • Whiteboard
  • Box cutter
  • Liquid adhesive
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Take a cutter to carefully cut out the frames. Pick the ribbons you want to use. I used a combination of sparkle ribbon and satin ribbon to bring a visual appeal.
  2. Start with wrapping the ribbon in whatever pattern you like and overlap the ribbon as you go. I made sure to include printed ribbons on each frame and at least 2 solid satin ribbons.
  3. Use glue to paste the ends of the ribbon to the back of the frame. Repeat the same for all the frames with different patterns and fabric straps.
  4. Fill the ribbon frames with memorable photographs or any other items of your preference to make your wall hanging complete and lively.
  5. I created a monogram frame design with scrapbook paper and fun stickers. Don’t forget to trim the rough edges to give it an attractive appearance.
  6. And finally, I placed my favorite family picture in the middle of the frame. Now it’s ready to put on the wall and hang with a fancy lighting system.

  1. Fun DIY Ribbon Frame

If you want to add a little sparkle and glam to your walls, you’d definitely fall in love with this DIY craft idea. It is super easy and looks gorgeous in all kinds of settings.

Supplies Required:

  • Wooden frame
  • Sturdy ribbon
  • Staple gun
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Take a wooden frame of at least 8-10 inches. Yes, any size would do the work, but the bigger it is, the better it will look.
  2. Use a sturdy ribbon that can hold up adequate weight. It should be decorative and durable.
  3. Collect all the items and flip the frame over and put the ribbons evenly on the backside surface of the frame.
  4. Now use a staple gun to put the ribbon to the back of the frame.
  5. And you’re all set to hang it up on your gallery wall.
